REGULATIONS

Below is some information to make your stay at the Retreat a positive one for you and the other campers. We ask that campers respect the peace and quiet offered here. Kobi, our friendly camp dog may stop by to say hi.

EXIT: Once you are registered and settled in please use the south campground entrance for coming and going in order to limit traffic through our yard except for office inquiries.

CHECK-IN is 3:00 PM.

CHECK OUT is 12:00 p.m. for RV’ers and tenters & 11:00 a.m. for Yurt, Tipi and Trapper Cabin rentals.

SECURITY DEPOSIT: A refundable security deposit of $300 is required for YURT Rentals at the time of your arrival. It will be refunded upon a satisfactory site inspection.

SUPPLY RENTALS: All supply rentals must be returned to the office before departing.

WATER SOURCE: There is an outside faucet at the shower / laundry building to fill your water containers. This is city water.

RV SITES: All RV sewer hoses must have elbow connectors to campground sewer pipe. Water supply is City water. Please use sparingly.

QUIET TIME: is from 10:30 PM to 8:00 AM. Activities or music during the day must not interfere with other campers. No music after 11:00 PM. Please keep voices low. Partying or offensive behaviour is not allowed at anytime. Report disturbances to the office.

VISITORS: Permission must be requested for visitors coming to your site. No visitors after 10:00 PM.

BOUNDARIES: Trespassing on other property outside the marked boundaries is not permitted. This specifically refers to the fence and farmland to the south and east of the Retreat, and personal buildings located in main yard of campground owners.

NEIGHBOURS: If you choose to walk the roadways please do not trespass on the neighbour’s property. At the request of the neighbours please do not visit or feed their farm animals.

Note: The swing set and trampoline in owner's yard are off limits due to liability reasons.

BUTTS: Please properly dispose of cigarette butts. Do not litter the ground with them.

SMOKING: is absolutely prohibited on the hiking trails.

DOGS: small dogs only (30 lbs or less) are allowed in the full service RV area of the campground. They must be well behaved (no constant barking), leashed and immediately cleaned up after. DO NOT leave pets alone and unattended at your campsite.

Dogs are not allowed in the tipi / yurt / cabin / or tenting areas of the campground.

FIREWOOD (Birch) available for purchase at the office. No scrap wood of any kind allowed.

GARBAGE: must be disposed of in the available containers. Cardboard boxes must be flattened and put next to garbage containers. Please ensure your bags are tied securely to minimize the odor. DO NOT PUT GARBAGE IN FIRE PITS. Please keep your site clean and tidy at all times. A clean-up fee of $25 will be charged if site left untidy.

BOTTLES / CANS: Please place beer, pop and liquor bottles in separate bags or boxes. There are recycling containers available on site for your bottles and cans if you prefer us to recycle them.

MATS: Large ground mats are not allowed in RV sites where there is grass. They may be used only where sites are graveled.

DAMAGE: Please do not mark on or deface the picnic tables, buildings or any other property of Elk Island Retreat. Campers will be required to pay for damages they cause.

REFUNDS: No refunds: after your check-in time / for no shows / if you leave early - except for monthly customers (refund pro-rated - $10 admin fee will be applied)

TREES / FLOWERS: Please do not break branches or damage trees and leave the wild flowers in their natural habitat for all to enjoy.

OFFICE HOURS: Sunday through Thursday: 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Friday: 10:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.

EMERGENCY PHONE: There is a phone available in the sunroom outside the office entrance for emergency purposes.

Serious violation of these regulations will result in the camper being required to leave the property.
